The first summer after my freshman year of college included two Washington DC internships.  The first half of the summer was spent at the White House, the second was spent at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Community Planning and Development.  I learned first hand about Section 8 and the HOME program, assisting in report preparation, and helping to draft and review funding proposals.
