Turns out that 30 degrees F is indeed drastically different from 30 degrees C.
Chicago, my first marathon, so awesome. I got a high-five from Elvis and got cheered by a drag-queen band of firemen. The October race day was tough to train for, since I was coming off of 90 degree Sacramento Valley dry heat training, into conditions that swung from 80 degrees F the previous year, to 30 degrees F when I ran.
Singapore, my second marathon, so awesome. This one hurt, though, not just because of the 30 degree C in 90% humidity, but because I hadn't planned to run. I think I had less than 8 weeks to train, completely do-able for some, agony for me. The best part (besides finishing) was getting cheered by my friend's doggy when I stopped to refuel.

It's not a marathon, but talk about limited training. We got free bibs for the Spartan Race, Fenway...the night before the event.
I got to run with Dean Karnazes! Marathons are his warm-ups for 100 milers...
